My residency was a life-changing experience, which opened many doors in my quest to both preserve tradition and find valid ways of contributing fresh, personal, and contemporary material to the genre. It also unlocked the door to a rich source of internal inspiration and creative potential that I will probably explore for the rest of my life.

Residency Directory

The Alliance of Artists Communities is the premier information source on residencies in the U.S., and in partnership with its international sister organizations -- Res Artis and TransArtists -- is a comprehensive resource for residencies worldwide.

The Residency Directory includes Alliance Organizational and Emerging Program members, as well as non-member residencies. (See a list of Alliance Organizational Members only.)

To search by name: If you are looking for a specific residency by name, go to our Residency Search and enter the name of the residency.

This listing includes three types of profiles:
IconDescription
Organizational Member Residencies that have provided detailed information on their programs (U.S. and international) – you must be a subscriber and logged in to view details
Nonmember Residency Residency programs that have not provided further information, and are listed as a courtesy
Emerging Program Emerging residency programs – those organizations that are in the process of developing new residencies
