Transportation
Seattle is served by Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The airport is 14 miles (about a 20-minute drive) from the Silver Cloud Hotel.
From the airport to the hotel
Public transit: Take bus #194 from the airport toward Downtown Seattle (you will need to pay with exact change – $2.25 – on the bus and request a transfer). Exit at Pioneer Square/Tunnel Station. Walk west across the street to Marion Street & 2nd Avenue to transfer to bus #12 toward First Hill. Exit at E. Madison Street & Broadway for the Silver Cloud Hotel/Broadway.
Cab: Cabs are readily available from the airport and will cost approximately $40 to the Silver Cloud Hotel/Broadway.
From the Amtrak station to the hotel
The Amtrak’s King Street Station (303 S. Jackson Street) is located approximately 1 mile from the hotel, though it is not very walkable, as you will encounter many dead-ends and will be going uphill the whole way. A cab is the easiest way from the Amtrak station to the Silver Cloud Hotel/Broadway.
The Alliance is grateful to Hedgebrook, celebrating its 20th anniversary, for hosting the 2008 Conference through staff and logistical support. The 2008 Conference is supported in part by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and The Ford Foundation.
