Explore Chicago!

Cloud Gate

Picasso at Daley Plaza

Chicago is a city with no shortage of superlatives – the first this (Ferris wheel, in 1893), the tallest that (Willis Tower, formerly Sears Tower, is the tallest building in the U.S.), the most these (theaters per capita – more than 200!)...

But it's also a city of larger-than-life ideas: the Burnham Plan that called for the lakefront to remain "forever open, clear and free," for example.

And it's a city that has inspired countless artists: life-long Chicago resident Gwendolyn Brooks, who was the first African-American woman to win a Pulitzer Prize; Picasso, who refused a $100,000 payment for his iconic sculpture at Chicago's Daley Center Plaza; Frank Lloyd Wright, who lived and worked in neighboring Oak Park; and a dazzling list of Chicago natives that includes Ernest Hemingway, Ray Bradbury, Koko Taylor, Ed Paschke, Patti Smith, Lar Lubovitch, Carl Sandburg, Mavis Staples, Muddy Waters, and Walt Disney.

We invite you to explore Chicago during your stay, whether you're looking for a sublime experience of world-class arts and culture or Carl Sandburg's "Stormy, husky, brawling, City of the Big Shoulders."
