The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has generously offered scholarships to administrators of residency programs that primarily support the creation of new dance, and to individuals and groups working toward the development of new residency programs in dance. (Please note: The term "residency" is used to refer to those programs whose primary purpose is to support the creation of new work, as distinct from teaching-, performing-, or other outreach-based residencies. Please contact the Alliance if you have any questions about eligibility.)

Scholarship recipients receive:

  • Full tuition waiver
  • Free materials
  • $500 travel reimbursement

To receive a scholarship
  1. Complete the scholarship application (please submit by February 15). Scholarship applicants who submit a complete application and registration form by February 15 will be notified of acceptance by March 1. Applicants who submit after February 15 will be reviewed and accepted on a first-come first-served basis and as funding is available.
  2. Following the Institute, answer a few brief questions about how you benefited from the Institute (the questions will be emailed to you before the Institute) and submit travel receipts for reimbursement.
