Getting Around New Orleans

All institute sessions will be held at the Joan Mitchell Center in the historic Faubourg Tremé neighborhood. Shuttle transportation will be provided to and from the hotel each day of the institute. We will also walk to many off-site tours and events within a reasonable distance.

While we'll be taking a shuttle to get to the Joan Mitchell Center each day, New Orleans is a flat, charming town that's great for exploring from the conveniently located hotel when we're not in institute sessions. Check out this Frommer's guide for tips on riding the streetcar, renting a bike, hopping on a ferry, or zipping about in a pedicab. Taxis, Lyft and Uber are also available.

Coffee, Breakfast, Dinner + Other Needs

Lunch is provided as part of your conference registration, and while breakfast is not included, coffee/tea will be provided at the Joan Mitchell Center each morning. For breakfast, you may want to walk from the hotel 2 minutes over to Green To Go before the shuttle ride for a quick bite. Additionally, the hotel restaurant, Bistreaux at the Bank, opens daily at 7am.

Hors d'oeuvres will be served at the evening receptions on 4/6 and 4/7, and we encourage you to get out and explore New Orleans' fantastic restaurants afterwards! The Whitney Hotel is walking distance to the French Quarter and all the amazing experiences the area has to offer.

CVS Pharmacy at 939 Girod St is an 8-minute walk from the hotel.
