Through the Alliance membership and meetings I have met and befriended so many people who have such a vast knowledge of the artist-in-residency field. These experts have been welcoming, open for questions, and so supportive of the emerging members.

Cohort Membership

The Alliance of Artists Communities encourages peer-to-peer collaboration, information sharing, and a strong network of individuals and organizations of all kinds. While small organizations often lack the financial resources to take advantage of professional services, they are rich in their ability to adapt, innovate, and evolve.

The Alliance has created its Cohort Membership to recognize these organizations, and to provide greater support and services to small residency programs who are interested in building connectivity with each other.

Cohort Members are residency programs:

  • with budgets of <$150,000/year, and
  • that are engaged with 3 or more other small residency programs as an ongoing peer network (examples: a group of residencies that gather for coffee periodically to address areas of common concern; a national network of small residencies that serve a specific artistic discipline; a local cohort that engages in cooperative funding or PR activities)

Cohort Membership includes all the benefits of Organizational Membership, including a page on the Alliance's website and other promotional opportunities. Dues are $125/year per organization.
