Art Sales Manager I Kala Art Institute (Berkeley, CA)

Art Sales Manager, Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA, 36 hours/week with benefits

Kala Art Institute, a non-profit arts organization in Berkeley, CA is looking for an Art Sales Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and management of Kala’s art sales program and to work as part of the gallery team on the auction, facility rentals, special events and pop-up projects. We’re seeking someone who is detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to connect with artists and buyers, prepare invoices, collect, and track payments, and promote art sales and Kala programming through social media, printed materials, and online marketing, This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits offered after 3 month. Art Sales Position involves:
1. Managing all aspects of Kala’s art sales program
2. Cultivating relationships with artists, buyers, and art consultants
3. Invoicing, tracking, and communicating about payments and commissions
4. Developing marketing strategies and creating art sales materials including, but not limited to, brochures, press releases, social media posts, web-site updates, and e-newsletter content
5. Working with Kala staff and board members on fundraisers, including the spring auction with a focus on artist donations and finding work and buyers for the live auction program
6. Organizing special projects including art fair participation, curating exhibitions off-site, holiday pop-up sales, and more
7. Art handling, especially experience handling unframed fine art prints and installing framed artworks
