The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation is seeking a current or recent undergraduate student for a Fall 2017 internship. This 12-week internship requires a minimum commitment of 3 days (24 hours) a week from October to December. Exact start and finish dates are flexible. Interns receive an hourly stipend.

Interns provide general administrative support and are tasked with a variety of projects. Under supervision of the Program Officer, possible projects include:

  • Assisting with special projects, such as field research and grantee selection
  • Assisting with special grantee events, such as convenings and symposiums
  • Assisting with data entry for grants management database
  • Light copyediting of program materials, including grant guidelines

A successful candidate will support staff in the management and oversight of multiple grant programs, as well as other philanthropic initiatives. Interns will learn the fundamentals of arts administration, obtain knowledge of contemporary art practice in the service of social change, and gain insight into funder-grantee relationships.

This position is especially useful for those candidates who love the arts and are also interested in marketing, entrepreneurship, business administration, social activism, and community organizing, and how these areas can interact with one another. By the end of their tenure, interns will have gained broad experience in a variety of procedures required to support working artists.

The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation is an equal opportunity employer and we strongly encourage applicants of all backgrounds to apply.
