Bogliasco Foundation + Baryshnikov Arts Center Announce Joint Residency

Traveling from the intimate spaces and cross-disciplinary community at the Bogliasco Study Center to the lofty studios and well-equipped spaces at BAC will take Fellows on a natural progression in the development of their creative work.

The Bogliasco Foundation and Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) have announced a new joint residency that will offer Dance, Music, and Theater Fellows the opportunity to bring work developed in Bogliasco to a wider audience and bigger space in New York City.

Joint Fellows in the performing arts disciplines will benefit from a month-long residency at the Study Center in Liguria to nurture and develop new projects, followed by a week-long residency at BAC in New York City to rehearse, workshop, and showcase these works-in-progress.

The Joint Fellowship is a collaboration between two respected international non-profit organizations with the shared mission to support the creation of new work in the arts. Traveling from the intimate spaces and cross-disciplinary community at the Bogliasco Study Center to the lofty studios and well-equipped spaces at BAC will take Fellows on a natural progression in the development of their creative work.

This program is the newest of a growing number of residency partnerships that have launched to deepen the residency experience and better support new work across development. From major consortium partnerships like Hatchery Project, which connected four dance artists with four performance-focused residencies across several years, to exchanges like Arctic Circle's 27 Below and Hyde Park Art Center/Project Row Houses' 2:2:2 Exchange, which enabled artists to bring work created in one residency context to the community of another.

The first Joint Fellow of the Bogliasco Foundation/Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) will begin his or her residency in Bogliasco in Spring 2017. For this term, all applicants to the Bogliasco Foundation in the disciplines of Dance, Music, and Theater will be considered for this special Fellowship. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2016.

For more information and to apply for this fellowship visit the Bogliasco Foundation's website.
