Tetris Mosaic Rubix: Managing Scheduling and Data in an Artists Community
Staff members of artists communities are, like all of us, awash in data. Each of us is reinventing the wheel as we manage complex residency schedules and seek to create the best data flow systems we can manage with our small staff and limited access to tech consulting. Systems such as SlideRoom and others now handily manage application processes. But these systems are not designed to manage the information flow once artists are accepted. Next come residency dates, arrival and departure information, artist bios, photos, websites and social media information, dietary requirements, project information and photos of projects. How do we solicit this information from artists, route each piece of information to the right place--to our own websites, our email lists, blogs--and ultimately to our digital archives?We invite Alliance members to participate in a series of conversations to share pain points and best practices in managing the flow of information in an artists community.
