It is hard to explain what it feels like to know that when you get up in the morning you can just sit and write — a journal, poetry, prose — all day long until you are too tired to pick up a pencil or sit at a keyboard, until your ability to put words together cohesively slips from your fingers — not from the fatigue of a long day at a job but from a long day of words bumping up against each other as they struggle to get from your brain to the page.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center (in Snowmass Village, Colorado) is auctioning a cocktail party and tour at the home of Susan and Leonard Nimoy in Los Angeles. Bid in person or online at www.andersonranch.org.

 Nimoys

The Nimoys will host a cocktail party and private tour of their magnificent art collection at their Los Angeles home, for a group of up to twenty guests.

Mr. Nimoy's acting career includes his portrayal of Mr. Spock in the original 'Star Trek' TV series, truly one of the most enduring and popular characters from American television. Mr. Nimoy is a director and accomplished photographer as well as an actor, and he is also a tireless supporter of the arts. In 2003, Mr. and Mrs. Nimoy established The Nimoy Foundation, which recognizes, supports, and encourages the work of visual artists by providing financial support to artist residency programs that offer ‘the gift of time.'

This item has been generously donated by Susan and Leonard Nimoy to support the work of the Alliance of Artists Communities, and Anderson Ranch is donating the proceeds of the auction item to the Alliance, as part of the Alliance's "Auction Partners" program.
