I left [my residency] forever changed, forever marked as a person. I left with the certainty that I am a writer, with a commitment to the creative life that I have never since questioned or doubted. I left understanding that separation and seclusion are essential in order to create, but also that life must necessarily surround us at all times, shaping and inspiring and even distracting us.

Hambidge - Live Auction

Auction Date: November 6, 2008

Hambidge, a 75-year-old artists' residency in Rabun Gap, Georgia, will auction an artwork to benefit the Alliance at Hambidge's Annual Art Auction.

Held at the Foundry at Puritan Mill, the Auction is Hambidge's largest and most festive event of the year. Over 100 talented artists, both widely established and newly emerging, will be offering some of their finest work to the highest bidders.

Hambidge will donate the proceeds of one auction item to the Alliance, as part of the Alliance’s "Auction Partners" program. To find out more, or to become an Auction Partner, contact Russ Smith at rsmith@artistcommunities.org.
