Participation is for faculty and alumni from Columbia University, New York University, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Vassar College. Applications are by recommendation through each institution. The mission of the Catwalk Art Residency is to establish Catwalk as a special retreat for art making. Residents are selected by participating institutions that have been invited to be members of the Catwalk Advisory Committee. Artists, writers and creative practices of all types are considered for the residency through application processes at each institution. Residents come to stay at the property from Spring through Fall in private living spaces with separate studio spaces available for use across the property. Full use of the grounds is encouraged along with exploration of the Catskill and Hudson area. Projects that are collaborative or that connect to the region specifically are especially appropriate for selection.
