N & G Global Exchange Center | Artist Residency

Our Visiting Artist Program is a part of our intercultural exchange program with the goal to promote better understanding and harmony cross the country boundary lines and ethnical group lines. This is also intended to serve as a professional development opportunity for emerging and experienced visual artists and to expose visitors to a group of artists in other country and from other cultural background.

Visiting Artist Program

This program invites artists abroad to live in Beijing, the cultural and historical center of China, to exchange ideas and to experience local cultures.

Our Artists Residence Program focuses on:
1) to experience and to encounter Chinese cultures and to connect to the everyday life of local citizens;
2) to connect and to network with Chinese art community and art enthusiasts, which may produce the lasting friendship and enhance the artists’ career potentials. Since our program is aimed at promoting international exchanges, applicants should possess national of a country other than China. In cooperation with top art schools and art galleries, we also place international artists into other contemporary art institutes in China and provide on-going support services to them during their staying in China.

Eligibility

  • Application type: Open application
  • Collaboration: Must apply and be accepted individually
  • Geography: Open to US artists, Open to non-US artists
  • Additional eligibility information: 

    Visual artists including (but not limited) painters, sculptors, photographers who are based upon the area outside of China. Art major students in Bachelor and Master levels are also welcome to apply for the program.

Stipends / other support

Artists Receive 1. Working studio spaces in Beijing, 2. Accommodation Placement in Beijing 3. Supportive service to arrange promotion events for the artists to demonstrate and sell his/her work in Beijing 4. Regular opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with Chinese artists and art collectors, which include education programs, workshop and artist talks. 5. Opportunity to sell the art work through our online galleries even after the program 6. To be included in our Contemporary Art Yearbook 7. Special Discounted Chinese language and cultural courses 8. Optional cultural tour packages in China 9. Visa Application advises and on-going support services 10. Visiting Artist Placement Service
