Something special happens in these places. At times I come with an empty slate; I cast aside every preconceived plan and just see what happens. In other instances I come with deadlines. Always I come away with something beyond what I could have imagined.

Northwest Regional Meeting

Spring
2004
Portland, Oregon

A fine time was had by all at Oregon College of Art & Craft. The group was inspired by a discussion on “Artists’ Communities as Environmental Stewards” and the region showed a strong level of commitment to their local communities. The discussions were interspersed with a glazing and raku firing, which gave many of us new appreciation for ceramic artists. Bullseye Connection gave the group a private gallery showing, and an exciting tour of the Bullseye Glass Co. Factory. Of the 18 attendees, 10 had never attended Alliance gatherings before, so it was a great opportunity to meet and join forces.
