Jentel is the dream and embodies the vision of Neltje, as a single benefactor, who established a private family foundation in January 2001. Within a unique ranch setting in the Piney Creek Valley, Neltje came to experience the peace and calm from a Wyoming landscape that also offers a healing power for mind and spirit.  She realized the potential to share the landscape and the life-giving experience with other creative individuals.

The James Castle House Residency Program offers emerging and mid-career artists, writers, and other creative professionals an opportunity to live and work onsite at the James Castle House. This program is designed to provide time and space for participants to complete a project or a new body of work inspired by their experience in Boise, the history of the site, or the legacy of James Castle. We offer two options in term length: one being a 10 week residency and the other a 10 day residency. 

I-Park hosts intimate, multidisciplinary, fully funded residencies to artists from around the world. Between 6 and 8 artists reside onsite for 4-week “sessions.” To foster a congenial social setting, all artists arrive and depart at the same time. Residents are provided with a private bedroom in a renovated 1840s farmhouse, a private studio and chef-prepared dinners five nights a week. Shared amenities: communal kitchen, Common Area for gatherings, a modest library and 25 art/nature trails.

Hedgebrook is on Whidbey Island, WA, situated on 48-acres of forest and meadow facing the Salish Sea, with a view of Mount Rainier. The retreat hosts writers from all over the world for free-to-writers residencies (excluding travel) of two to three weeks. Our residency hosts up to 6 women-identified writers, 18 and older, at at one time, each housed in a handcrafted cottage. Meals are lovingly prepared by our chefs daily, and writers come together each evening for a communal gathering.  

Headlands Center for the Arts provides an unparalleled environment for the creative process and the development of new work and ideas. Through a range of programs for artists and the public, we offer opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and exchange that build understanding and appreciation for the role of art in society.

The Haystack Mountain School of Crafts is an international craft school located on the Atlantic Ocean in Deer Isle, Maine. Founded in 1950 as a research and studio program in the arts, Haystack offers one and two-week studio workshops in ceramics, blacksmithing, fiber, graphics, metals, and wood to participants of all skill levels as well as the two-week, Open Studio Residency program, exhibitions, tours, auctions, artist presentations, and shorter workshops for Maine residents and highschoolers

Launched in 2009 in beautiful Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, Green Box is a year-round incubator

of multi-disciplinary visual and performing arts. Centered on four pillars that make up the entirety of our programming in, by, and for the community, Green Box provides residents and visitors from Colorado and around the world the following: the annual summer Green Box Arts Festival, year-round Artist in Residency & Arts Education programming, and Art Installations available to view daily.

Grand Canyon Conservancy’s residency programs support Grand Canyon National Park’s priorities of dark sky preservation and inclusive storytelling by welcoming artists, scholars, and scientists from throughout the world to explore and contribute to Grand Canyon’s historic and cultural legacy. Our artists and astronomers engage the public in meaningful ways, adding to the collective scholarship on the region, and celebrating the rich environmental, spiritual, and cultural impact of Grand Canyon.

Golden Apple Art Residency is situated in a very quiet and secluded location, approximately an hour north of Acadia National Park along the rocky coast of DownEast Maine. The studios, residents' cottages, the three-story art building and the main house are all located less than two hundred feet from shore. It is in this remote, naturally rugged and picturesque environment that our artists and writers find the support and inspiration to create.

Foundation House, located in back country Greenwich, CT, opens its doors for 10 days to six residents, allowing residents the time and space for concentrated creation in beautiful and inspiring surroundings. Foundation House’s mission as a non profit center for learning is to focus on health, wellness, the environment, and social justice.
